Leadership Team
Tom Ripley
President
Tom oversees the operation and performance of Egis’ Engineering teams and
the Company’s Service Center. With over 30 years’ experience in building,
industrial and data center operations, his background includes teaching,
planning, project and IS/IT management.
Tom has instituted a customized in-house training program requiring
extensive, mandatory training and academic coursework based on engineering
courses he designed for community colleges in Washington State.
Tom is an active member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration
and Air Conditioning Engineers; the United States Green Building Council, as
a LEED 2.1 Accredited Professional and holds the following licenses: 2nd
Grade Steam Engineer, 07 Electrical Administrator, 07 Master Electrician and
City of Seattle Class C Refrigeration Mechanic.
Denton J. Phillips
Business Development Director
Denton manages business development initiatives for Egis and provides
customer support for our contracted services. With over 20 years experience
in sales management, Denton is recognized for his strong organizational
management skills and delivering excellent service to clients.
Prior to joining Egis, he held senior management and business development
positions with a wide range of mechanical service providers, original
equipment manufacturers and large mechanical contractors including
McKinstry/Essention.
He is currently on the BOMA Seattle/King County Board of Directors and
Chairman of the BOMA Code and Energy Committee.
Richard McDowell
Service Manager
Mr. McDowell is responsible for overseeing the onsite engineering teams
including training, technical support, licensing and personnel issues.
Richard has 10 years of experience with Egis as an Operating Engineer and a
Chief Engineer for data centers, life science facilities, and Class A office
buildings. His experience includes managing the transition from construction
to occupancy of the 9th and Stewart Life Sciences Building prior to Corixa
occupying the facility. He was in charge of the building engineers for two
years prior to the sale of the building to Children’s Hospital. Richard now
manages our five Chief Engineers and is responsible for hiring and retaining
our engineering staff and matching the right engineer to the right property.
Mr. McDowell holds the following licenses: City of Seattle 4th Grade Boiler
Fireman/Engineer; State of Washington 07 Electrical Journeyman; State of
Washington 07 Master Electrician; City of Seattle Refrigeration Mechanic
Class A Journeyman; City of Seattle Refrigeration Operating Engineer;
Universal Refrigeration Technician; First Aid and CPR; and IAQ Specialist
Certification.
